Pearson Place offers a full and varied recreation schedule provided in our beautiful, new amenity spaces.

Residents are offered a range of social and recreational opportunities including the Java Music Club musical performances, fitness classes, board games, bingo, and theme parties.

Activities are scheduled with input from residents, employee care partners, recreation aides, and a recreation therapist, and may include baking, church services, and choir. Community events and celebrations occur regularly and are enjoyed by many.

Java Music Club

Residents at Pearson Place enjoy participating in The Java Music Club, a research-based peer support program designed to empower older adults through meaningful group activities. With over 2,000 organizations using the program across Canada and the US, it encourages residents to help one another, fostering a sense of purpose and connection. Its unique combination of music, photography, themes, and shared experiences makes it an engaging and highly participatory program that promotes mutual support rather than relying solely on staff-led activities.

Pets

Well-behaved pets weighing 30 pounds or less are permitted with approval of the manager. Animals may be cared for by the resident, a family member or friend who is responsible for keeping the dwelling unit and the pet clean and sanitary.

Residents are reminded that:

  • Pets must be kept on leash whenever outside the resident’s unit
  • Owners must clean up after pets immediately
  • Pets are not permitted in common areas
  • Noisy pets are not acceptable
  • Residents must immunize their pets and provide documentation
